Bernadette DiPietro creates batiks, using an ancient Indonesian technique of applying wax and dye to handmade paper in combination with inks and watercolors. Mixed media assemblages and acrylic on stretched paper have emerged as her new Fusionart. Here she manipulates recycled, found, and collected materials into a world of abstract visions. She is the author of The ABC’s of Batik. She conducts workshops preserving the ancient art of Ukrainian egg decoration.
