Gretchen is a sculptor, painter and maskmaker. Her work is inspired by the natural world, ancient arts and crafts, and a fascination with how they intersect. Sculptures are handcarved from exotic and domestic woods using traditional woodworking techniques. Paintings are in pastel, pencil and charcoal on sandpaper, or oil on canvas. Masks are created with animal and nature motifs, made from palm thatch, plaster gauze casts or gourds, then painted. Her work is in private collections throughout the U.S.
