Cindy Pitou Burton Photographer

I spent many years as a photojournalist in NYC, working for the NY Times and soon expanding my contacts to CBS, NBC and PBS, magazines and corporations. After moving to a quieter Ojai, I began photographing the western landscape, experimenting with several mediums. Negative transfers enchanted me with the painterly way it transformed each print. Archival sepia prints of the west reminded me of old postcards and led to photographing flowers on a light box as I rediscovered color. All of these influence my photographs, occasionally in combination. A photographerfrom photojournalist to fine art.
