As an eight year old with a peculiar interest in drawing the homes found in countless 1960s housing tract developments of Southern California, I found a theme that I would return to years later as a fine artist. Although Suburbia is a central theme in my work, I prefer not a faithful capturing but instead a subtle subversion. Leaving out doors and windows, I use light and fluid distortion to portray the mystery I find in the sometimes mundane qualities of the domestic.
