Some people crave certainty and structure. I am comforted by mystery, drawn out by what we can’t see, what we don’t know. In search of meaning, beauty and truth, I am happiest in the not-knowing, in the exploration.
The art that I make is that: an exploration – of self, of world, and in particular, of what is here in front of us right now. What I make is immediate. I work intuitively with what’s at hand (pencil, scraps of paper, photographs, etc.). I wait for the image to unfold.
For me, art is about connection, communication, and finding beauty in brokenness.
