Carol Shaw-Sutton


Carol Shaw-Sutton is a sculptor and installation artist specializing in poetic fiber and textile work, inspired by natural cycles of growth and decay. She has been exhibiting her work in museums in the United States and internationally since the 1970's including museum exhibitions in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, France, Japan and Canada, as well as New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Her work is included in numerous collections and received many awards, including the NEA Individual Artist Fellowship, the Young American Award, US/Japan and US France Fellowships, among others. She is Professor of Emeritus from the School of Art, CSULB where she headed the Fiber Program for 30 years.
