It's that time of year again, when Ojai's east end orchards are fragrant with orange blossoms on the trees, and also heavy with luscious oranges ready for the picking. This painting, 36" h x 24" wide, celebrates those who pick the oranges.
Citrus trees are unique in that, depending on the variety, they can have both full grown fruit AND blossoms for the next fruiting on the tree at the same time. That makes Ojai in late winter and early spring a particularly beautiful place to be - the sights and smells of the many orchards here can really activate multiple senses.
Ojai is known for its "Pink Moment" sunsets, but I reckon it should also be known for its Orange Moment in springtime.
