Julie Grist: Telling Stories

I love artwork that tells a story - seeing a hint of movement, of something happening that you may see but read differently than the next viewer. This detail from a large painting "Night Flight" is telling a story - what do you read into it? Is she leaving one lover for another? Or about to open the door and welcome the figure in the car into their home? A getaway - or - just handing him a sandwich for the road?
