I have been a working sculptor and educator for 50 years. I have always made work about what is around me. In the past, my pieces were about the beauty of nature and our interaction with it.
Then my life took a dramatic change. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease 5 years ago. My focus now is on bringing attention to neurological disorders and the many challenges they present. Balance, focus, speech and all automatic functions are affected. My current work uses glass and wire brushes as metaphors for fragility and friction.
