I joined a group of painters in the Piedmont region of Italy this June, to explore its beauty through paint.
Each day was magical - painting plein air at a villa or palazzo or garden. All arranged by the fantastic Julio Panisello of Roofless Painters.
Retreating to the gorgeous Villa Emma for farm-to-table meals, and then painting again as the sun traveled across the forest, the river ran loud and night fell. We painted deep into the night, surrounded by aging frescos on the walls, fireflies out open windows and blooming friendships.
We all painted small 12 x 9" studies of our Italy, which will be shown in an exhibit opening this Thursday, August 24, 6-8 pm at the El Nido Project, 1028 N. Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA
