Emily Brown: Working with Oxides

I have become enamored with the effects of layering oxides and various glazes. The interactions between them vary with application technique. This porcelain vase had copper oxide hand brushed on the rim. It was then sprayed with two different glazes and fired to about 2340° in an oxygen deprived environment. I never get quite the same result twice. Below are some more examples of the same technique. Please come visit during my open studio on April 13th to learn more about my process.
