I've been working away on some final pieces in anticipation of the Ojai Studio Artists Studio Tour this weekend. It's interesting to reflect on themes that are coming up in my work, usually unconsciously. Today I'm noticing explorations of grounding and suspension in my recent pieces. I'm always fascinated with suspension -- of materials and of space, and there's something about the relationship between suspension with grounding that I keep coming back to in my work. What do we see from the air, and how do we tether to the ground? How do we feel in either state, or in between?
I look forward to sharing these pieces and more in my Meiners Oaks studio this Saturday through Monday!
