My response to the 2017 Thomas Fire, the EarthHeart pendant, was first shown and sold at the 2018 Ojai Studio Artists exhibit "Scorched Souls". The vision of EarthHeart formed very clearly before I started to work on it. I could see the heart shape laying down so it also represented the Ojai mountains. The flame is symbolic of the fire, yes, but mainly for our passion as humans. Our individual unique passions and our passion to create life connections with each other and the earth we stand on. For me, it is a calling to be passionate about my life in every moment and a deeper awareness of my gifts with the ability to use them more fully. EarthHeart is a way for me to give back to the earth.
