The installation of my work was postponed yesterday due to rain & all around under-the-weatherness, so thought I’d install it here and show ya all how it’s shaped up. It’s titled “Border Crossing Habitat” and will provide food & sanctuary to migrating birds flying between the Californian & Mexican Border during the Desert X event spread out in the Coachella Valley.
The piece is made of cattail fibers, repurposed cotton cloth, milk paint and wild bird food and is meant to dissolve into the desert landscape over time. Thanks to Textile Arts LA and Makerville Studio for making this possible.
Thanks for looking,
Carol Shaw-Sutton
