One of my Milky Way prints was juried into the Shape and Soul exhibition at the Carpinteria Art Center. I photographed this image at Bates Beach, just a few miles south of Carpinteria. This same image won first place in the Photography Division at the Westlake Village Art Guild open competition last year! The man is shining a bright flashlight at the planet Jupiter. He had to stand completely motionless while I photographed him for 20 seconds. The Milky Way can be seen in the sky to the left of the man. Millions of stars shine brightly in the Galactic Center of the Milky Way. On the sand behind him sits a piece of driftwood with the word LOVE inscribed on it, just a bit of creative whimsy written by beachgoers. Here is a link to the exhibit at the Carpinteria Art Center. Or see the image on my website.
