Matter of Gravity at the Maloof Foundation

OSA member Martha Moran, known as Ojai's Rockstacker, is celebrated in an exhibition titled "Matter of Gravity" at the  Maloof Discovery Garden in Alto Loma, CA.

The Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts is a member of the Historic Artists' Homes and Studios program (HAHS) of the National Trust for Preservation.

Moran's creations share the outdoor stage with sculptor Tanya Kovaleski who is also based in Ojai, CA.

Matters of Gravity

Saturday June 5, 2021 - May 31, 2022

Open to the public Fridays and Saturdays. 10 AM - 4 PM

5131 Carnelian St.. Alta Loma, CA 91701

Matters of Gravity presents the work of two very different sculptors grappling with gravity in very distinct ways.

Martha Moran’s rock stacks deal with mass and balance, rooted to the earth. Her Buddha Beach Maloof installation is an array of small rock stacks, inspired by Buddha Beach in Sedona, Arizona, a vortex spot filled with thousands of stacks.

Tanya Kovaleski’s dynamically engineered wooden  structures arch skyward in gravity-defying angles and curves, all painted in bold colors.
