Leslie Clark: My artful adventures

It was easy for me to provide a painting for the show at Beatrice Wood Center opening on January 17 at 4PM since most of my art has been inspired by adventure travel. My passion to explore the world and paint it has led me to six continents. Market Conversation was inspired at a market in Rajasthan, India. The draped fabric, saturated with jeweltone color are irresistable.

In my travels I usually choose to explore markets because there you see how the local people live. They not just for shopping they are a place to gather and gossip. Although my local shopping for groceries is much more rushed, I almost always run into a friend at Von's or Westridge and stop for a lengthy market conversation. I can relate to these women.
