Soni continues to paint in the same process-oriented style that she has in the past – sculpting on canvasses with found objects and occasionally pouring cement concoctions. However, this past year she has devoted much of her artistic time to creating watercolors. As opposed to the loose, sometimes frantic style of her paintings, these watercolors are very precise. She uses circular arc-like compositions to study the effects of color applications, applying numerous thin layers of paint, and then refining some of the images. She has also framed some of the drawings from the “Not For Sale” sketchbook that she has displayed in the past – however, these can now be purchased.
