I am so blessed and lucky to have a grogeous, smart, funnt, and talented daughter like my Nolina Rose. The name Nolina is from a cactus flower that grows in the desert in Borrego Springs, Ca. I was hiking there when I came upon "Nolina's Wash". and I swore if I ever had a girl I would name her Nolina. One year later I was pregnant with my girl. The plant is similar to the Yucca plant and sprouts a huge yellowy/white blossom.
Such is the influence of nature that it inspires us in so many ways.
This portrait is done in handcut stained glass, on a wooden substrate, finished in tinted grout.
