I love magical realism in fiction, the way it immerses you in a familiar world that crosses in and out of otherworldly territory. I'm not sure why I hadn't realized this sooner, but in making this piece I had a thought that I've been aiming to make visual versions of magical realism for years.

This piece was made with sage, eucalyptus, and hollyhock. It found a new home with wonderful long-time collectors during the Studio Tour last weekend.
