I love our crazy fourth of July Parade in Ojai--the excitement builds from the beginning of June when the chairs start to go out--this may be a bit excessive, but it's tradition. I went very early this year to help with Dennis Shives' Inchworm determined to support goofiness in our parade. Since they did not need help I had a couple of hours to kill so I sat with my sketch book and watched people celebrate the big birthday. I did not see republicans or democrats--only happy flag waving celebrants.
