Blind Continuous Line Drawing

Early recognition as an artist followed my exploration of watercoloring blind continuous line drawings, drawings completed with minimal glances at the paper for basic orientation. These drawings require intense focus and careful observation. One tries to never lift pencil from the paper and draw as continuously as possible. With careful observation it is astonishing at times just how realistic some subjects appear, others not so much, and definitely quite a deviation from reality.
My artwork in this category has been compared to Antoni Gaudi the architect of Barcelona. The camera painting began as a blind continuous line drawing, some alterations must take place to clearly define the subject, but on close examination one can see the quirky and lyrical quality of the artwork.
My studio is abundant with paintings completed in this manner, and drawings still unpainted waiting for inspiration. I'll be open for the Downtown Second Saturday, July 11 so please come by and visit.
