Happy to exhibit "Grid Poem, Where" in the Ojai Studio Artists Exhibition at the Ojai Valley Museum (opening August 21, 2026). Glass! What a medium. Glass refracts, reflects, absorbs, transmits, and distorts, increasing an awareness of color and light. Light fluctuates all day and interacts with the stained glass accordingly. It is a kinetic material. I am very interested in the various optical qualities of glass and choose glasses to take advantage of perceptual discoveries. I use mostly extraordinary hand blown sheet glass but also treat the surfaces with kiln-fired paint and photo decals, and etching. Imagery includes details of nature, patterning, and found visual elements. All together, the piece expresses a type of Haiku poetry generating an imaginative link between the parts.
