ARTIST STATEMENT
Clay is my muse and has been my teacher/guiding light throughout my life. Clay is elemental – physically and metaphorically transformative. It is the selection and manipulation of these elements that hold the magic. Clay affords me a window into the mysteries of life and existence – interwoven with my interests and contemplation, allowing them to grow and become visible – revealing a glimpse of the largest and smallest moments of thoughts and fantasy. My art is a biography of sorts – snapshots for the viewer to share the wonders and beauty.

The Tangled Golden Lasso of Truth
I've been working on this sculpture for months. Finally started the last steps and firings this week.
I have an in-process photo but had a huge problem with it this afternoon when my excited dog bumped the table and my creation took a spill. So it's Plan B now - very unexpected.
So, next step will be Kintsugi, an ancient Japanese restoration process applied to damaged ceramic treasures. It is a fitting element for the clay component as well as the theme on this sculpture, "The Tangled Golden Lasso Of Truth".
How unpredictable clay work, weather and life can be.

Best Kept Secret
My Pyramid Studio is the best kept Ojai Art Scene secret. It is an experience not to be missed. I designed and built the studio/gallery building and landscaped the property, starting from an empty canvas. The ground floor is a working ceramic studio, while the upstairs is a gallery with 360 degrees of beautiful views.
I will be open to the public only on Sunday, Oct 11th during the Ojai Studio Artist tour weekend, or by appointment at 805-646-7752. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet me and see my ongoing lifelong creative accomplishments.
