In the Spring of 2025, I embarked on a road trip through the Pacific Northwest with my partner, Ray Powers - a journey sparked by a longing for beauty and a renewed connection with nature. We wandered among ancient trees in old-growth forests, explored the quiet magic of the San Juan Islands, and found serenity in the Japanese Gardens of Portland and Seattle. We were immersed in the vibrant spectrum of the Mount Vernon Tulip Festival, where every bloom was at its peak, painting the fields in radiant colors.
Throughout our travels, my iPad became an essential creative companion, allowing me to capture fleeting impressions in real time. Once home, I returned to my studio to paint textured papers, scan them, and layer them digitally into richly collaged illustrations—each one a memory, a moment, a meditation on the landscapes we explored.
This body of work is both a travelogue and a love letter - to nature, to artistic evolution, and to the joy of seeing the world side by side.
