Star Trails Over the Topa Topa Mountains
Photography
18x24
Star trails create a mesmerizing circular pattern in the night sky above a tranquil landscape with rolling hills.
The iconic Topa Topa mountains of Ojai reflect the last bit of sunset for the day. Locals call it the Pink Moment. The stars begin appearing in the sky during twilight's beautiful purple skies. The North Star, Polaris is directly above Chief Peak. When there is snow on the mountains, the peak resembles a profile of a Native American head.
Over 250 long exposure images were stacked into this single image, creating an ethereal visual effect. To the right of North Star, the star trails appear brighter and greener due to part of the Milky Way arching through that part of the image.
