When I was a child my Mother told me that the world is strung together by an iridescent spiderweb, everything is connected with golden energic threads. I have spent my life trying to connect the dots, examining patterns and manifestations of cause and effect. I like working in grids that weave through my paintings creating order and intention but then allowing chaos to ensue - that is my process, a constant battle between planning and surrender. Art making, like my 50-year meditation practice is just that, a practice. I show up. I have some inclinations, some preferences, some habits, some skills, I have had accumulated successes (and disappointments) but for the most part it is about showing up to be surprise
