ARTIST STATEMENT
Andrea Haffner’s work highlights the infinite small wonders in the natural world. Her resin-encased compositions in her sculptures and jewelry incorporate found materials such as weathered lacy pod skeletons, driftwood, and dissected seeds. Andrea has an abiding interest in small containers, in the ways they can serve as both holders of precious objects and deliberate points of focus. Through the unique contained environments she creates, she invites viewers to enter small worlds that are at once novel and deeply familiar.

Still Point
In these turbulent times in our country and world, I find myself so aware of the comfort and presence I find in my creative process and in the natural world. Observing details and cycles in nature, and engaging in the meticulous process of creating my work with these small natural forms are a great respite. I'm looking forward to sharing the sculptures and jewelry I've been making, this Saturday March 14 -- OSA's first Second Saturday Tour of the year. I'll be in great company with 9 other artists in Meiners Oaks and the Arbolada neighborhoods. Come say hello!
Andrea Haffner: Giving Season
I love this time of year, when I get to be part of secret gifting missions and to help people as they deliberate about what their loved ones might enjoy.
