Brian Berman: An Artful Adventure
I took a challenge when I was invited to Linda Taylor's Letter Press workshop. I had the idea to use my digital design of a Torus geometric print, laser cut it out of acrylic, and use it as a template for embossing fine art paper in her letter press. What an amazing discovery that I could turn paper into a three-dimensional artwork!

Dorte Bistrup: Five Layers of Tissue and a Man Named Alexander
My latest book creation is entitled “Book of Subscribers.” The subscribers were people from the early 19th century (1807 if I remember correctly) who paid (subscribed) to have a hefty book about the English Reformation published. . .

Julie Grist: Typewriters
Vintage typewriters. The CLUNK CLUNK of the metal arm reaching up to hit the rubber roller of the carriage. The ZING when one moves the carriage to the next line, and the ZIP sound rolling the paper in or out of the carriage. And the beauty of each perfectly round key sitting upright, open below, showcasing a single letter.

Lindsay Thomson: Star Trails Over the Gallery
The skies above the Topa Topas are fairly dark. Dark enough to view many of the stars in the night sky. Over 300 images were stacked to create this star trail image. The Beatrice Wood Gallery serves as a perfect foreground for star trails above the East End/Upper Ojai. As the Earth rotates, it seems like the stars rotate around the North Star, Polaris right above Chief Peak and directly above the gallery.

Steve Edwards: Muzzled Party Animal
Put a muzzle on it! Yes this party animal needs a muzzle. I often use my sculptures to work through issues that are buried deep in my soul. These issues are both personal and universal. This piece points to the issue of duality. How can something that looks like so much fun be so evil? Knowing when to speak up and when we should put a muzzle on it have been constants in my life. I was raised by a fierce, violent alcoholic. I should have told someone, but instead, I put a muzzle on it.
