As I prepare to deliver a new body of work to 10 West Gallery in Santa Barbara, I’m struck by the sheer volume and momentum of what emerged in my studio. They began as vivid renderings drawn from photographs of my late summer trip to Alaska, bright colors, crisp lines, and clear impressions of what I saw and felt. What a beautiful weekend in Ojai — sunshine, art lovers, and a whole lot of good conversation. The three-day  Ojai Studio Artists Open Studio Tour  was a blast, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who stopped by. Highlights included the  first public showing of  The Big Roundie  — a seven-foot rotating landscape that spun all weekend long (among the questions asked: does it tell your fortune? is it a portal to another dimension?)— plus a table full of my  illustrated journals and sketchbooks...
